our story
Connie is a career educator who has a passion for educating children in non-conventional ways. Mrs. Isabell has a Masters of Art in History from Stephen F. Austin State University as well as an Administrative Certification. She initiated the Black History Bowl competition more than thirty years ago in 1988 in Tyler, Texas. She expanded the bowl competition to include a Hispanic Heritage Bowl in Lancaster and later in Crowley, Texas.
Three generations of students and adults have participated in Black History Bowls and Hispanic Heritage Bowls in these three cities; Crowley, Lancaster, and Tyler, Texas. Our goal is to bring these unique competitions to state and national youth and communities. Please join us in preparing productive citizens in the 21st century. |
Crystel is a dedicated educator who specializes in working with students and educators to provide innovative ways to transform learning. Her areas of expertise include designing innovative programs and securing grants to expand opportunities for all students. In addition, she has vast experience and knowledge in planning major successful events. She has a passion for creating exciting educational events that inspire students to stretch their learning.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and Master’s from Lamar University. During her 18 years in education, she has had the opportunity to network and bring innovative partners to support the growth of the Cultural History Bowl. |
